Andrews Design Build Ltd has been involved in design and build construction projects for over 30 years with the company principal having a prior background in the building industry in precast concrete, terrazzo and plastering. The company is an offshoot of a family business started in Christchurch in 1865.
Our speciality is concrete tilt-up construction of commercial and industrial buildings, but we have also completed several large concrete masonry projects both industrial and residential.
Each project is individual and we use the best engineer and architect for the particular project. Award winning Alan Reay Consultants Ltd have been our principal consultants on the majority of our projects since early 1970.
In many of our projects we own the land and design the buildings to suit the tenants requirements. We try to provide a hassle free transition from planning to occupation.
This specialised type of construction is driven by our passion for flying. Both Ian Andrews and daughter Phillipa Andrews are private pilots.
We have designed and built hangars from single plane to 30 plane light aircraft hangars and up to a Boeing 737 size hangar in the Kingdom of Tonga. We also have a block of concrete Tee Hangars on the drawing board.
We like the permanence of concrete for the walls as it has the benefits of structural stability as well as an intergral fire rating. However we also design and build hangars completely of Colorsteel.
We take pride in our hangar doors. They are an important part of any hangar and we use sliding, bifold or concertina, depending on the application.
